b.r.a.i.n.child---Support for Families
If you are reading this page, and are a parent of a child that has been recently or not so recently diagnosed with brain cancer, please stop and take a breath. You are not alone.
The group behind b.r.a.i.n.child have all been where you have, most likely seen the same things that you have seen, experienced the same emotions that you have and learned how to get through it, to the best of our abilities. By no means does this mean that we have all of the answers, but we have a network and some know how when it comes to finding out the answers to the questons you have.
b.r.a.i.n.child McMaster’s mission is threefold: supporting families from diagnosis through treatment and beyond, public education and advocacy, fund-raising for research into paediatric brain tumours.
We welcome you with open arms into our support family, created with the intention to make the road travelled on your journey fighting brain cancer less bumpy by pointing out the potholes and providing a map of resources and locations of interest while staying at McMaster Children's Hospital.
In times like you are experiencing or have experienced in the past, there are many stressess and strains that we can help with. Whether they be emotional, financial or political, please reach out and we will do whatever we can to help. If financial concerns are present please do speak to the clinic social worker and provide some insight to them or your current situation and they will assess and provide guidance from there.
